Introduce
This is a fast-moving story. The client is a cement decorative furniture manufacturer in the Philippines, for whom alkali-resistant chopped strands are an indispensable raw material; and they already work with a long-term freight forwarder in Yiwu, China, so the shipping route had a foundation. From first contact on July 22, 2026 to the deal landing in August 2026, only 28 days of sample testing and continuous technical support were needed. But “fast” does not mean “smooth” — payment method, sample arrangement and technical doubts formed three hurdles, one after another. A summary table maps the path below, followed by the full story of how we cleared each one.
Hurdle 1: RMB Settlement Wouldn't Work — We Switched the Approach Right Away
Right at the start, the first hurdle appeared at the payment stage: the client wanted to settle in RMB, but local payment channels in the Philippines could not process it, no matter how they tried. With the money path blocked, testing and shipping could not move forward.
Instead of pushing the problem back to the client or repeating why it was inconvenient, we adjusted the settlement method right away — switching to USD and reopening the payment route. Once the channel worked, the transaction completed smoothly and the sample and testing process could continue.
Many cross-border problems cannot be solved by “talking it over again.” Quickly offering a workable alternative is often worth more than arguing about which method “should” be used.
Hurdle 2: 10 kg or 5 kg? Right-Sizing the Sample to Get Things Moving
The second hurdle was the sample itself. The client initially asked for 10 kg — more material means more comfortable testing, of course; but with international shipping costs running high, they hesitated and the testing process stalled before it even began.
We made a pragmatic suggestion: start with a 5 kg sample. The specification stays the same and the quality stays the same, but the parcel is smaller, ships cheaper and arrives faster — and not one of the key indicators the test needs is left out. Both sides agreed quickly, we closed the sample order through the platform right away, and the sample went out, putting the 28-day testing process officially in motion.
Sometimes the key to moving a deal forward is not “giving more,” but “getting it running.”
Hurdle 3: "I Can Hardly See the Fibers" — the Real Test of Expertise
During testing, the client raised a very typical doubt: the fibers are almost invisible to the naked eye — does that mean poor dispersion and insufficient reinforcement?
This is a question that is easy to misjudge, and equally easy to brush off with “that’s normal.” We did neither. We took a two-step approach.
Step one: explain the principle clearly. Alkali-resistant chopped strands are extremely fine by nature; once blended into a cement-based material and mixed, they disperse evenly throughout. Being hard to see with the naked eye is precisely a sign of good dispersion — not evidence that no fibers are there. Step two: do the troubleshooting proactively. We checked the client’s mix ratio and mixing process item by item to see whether any fit issue was affecting dispersion and reinforcement, and offered practical adjustments.
A professional explanation plus proactive troubleshooting removed the client’s concerns entirely. Testing passed, and the cooperation landed quickly.
Why This Deal Was Won
- Industry fit: the client makes cement decorative furniture, giving a rigid and steady demand for alkali-resistant chopped strands;
- Smooth logistics: the client’s own freight-forwarder resources in Yiwu, China, greatly simplified shipment handling;
- Efficient communication: frequent, multi-channel communication built trust quickly;
- Professional answers: we met testing objections head-on with detailed technical explanations, using expertise to solidify the client’s confidence and close the deal fast.
What Else We Can Solve for You
- Tariffs and origin disadvantage: 40% duty from China, while Egypt and Europe ship faster with lower duties? — We work the landed cost out item by item, cut logistics spend directly with tools such as freight coupons, and use product, lead time and service to turn “a little dearer” into “worth it.”
- Tight lead times: LCL takes longer, full containers move faster? — We explain the difference clearly and help you choose the faster shipping method around your production schedule, so arrival dates stay under control.
- Price and payment terms: looking for a discount and installment terms? — We pursue an exclusive price through our internal approval channel and negotiate the payment arrangement item by item, until the terms are something both sides can execute.
