Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat
Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) is a sheet-like mat made by chopping continuous glass fiber strands into approximately 50mm short filaments, which are then randomly and uniformly spread out and bonded together with adhesives. It can be used to reinforce ,vinyl ester resin (VE), epoxy resin (EP), etc. The adhesives for CSM include emulsion (polyester emulsion) and powder (polyester powder), corresponding to Emulsion Chopped Strand Mat and Powder Chopped Strand Mat. Both types are suitable for processes such as Hand Lay-Up, Pultrusion, Continuous Panel Molding, and Vacuum Forming. CSM features fast resin impregnation, good film coverage, easy bubble elimination, uniform distribution of fibers and binders, high dry and wet strength of products with good transparency, and uniform mass per unit area to ensure stable glass fiber content and mechanical properties of products. It is widely applied in various FRP products such as automotive parts, sanitary wares, chemical anti-corrosion pipes, cooling towers, storage tanks, ships, building components, and furniture.
